Miriam Deck - Ottawa Visual Artist

     My passion for art reflects my passion for God. I am particularly interested in portraying the beauty and colour of all His creations through paint on canvas, 3D sculptures, and pencil and charcoal drawings.  Most of my pieces are abstract realism, representing nature or portraits, and I spend approximately 4-16 hours on each project. I am always excited about tackling new projects, working with new media, and experimenting with a variety of concepts. My hope is that my work engages viewers in a way that they leave challenged, asking themselves questions; or, just admiring the beauty of something God has given us. I believe that everything in this life is special, and life itself is something beautiful and precious. This beauty is easy to capture because it is literally everywhere, and inspires me to seek out more opportunities to become a better artist.
